Questions
Before you book
What should I wear?
Loose, comfortable clothing such as shorts and a light T-shirt, so Dermott can see how you move. Let us know beforehand if this is a problem.
What do I need to prepare?
A quiet room with about 2m x 1.5m of clear floor space. Dermott brings a portable treatment table and the equipment he needs.
How long is a visit, and what does it cost?
Visits are 50 to 60 minutes. The price depends only on the day and time, starting at £100 before 6pm on weekdays. New patients get 25% off their first visit. See prices.
What happens at the first appointment?
A full consultation about your complaint, health history and lifestyle, then an examination with movement and orthopaedic tests, with your consent, followed by hands-on treatment and advice for home.
How many treatments will I need?
It depends on you and what is going on. Dermott will talk this through after your assessment, and you are never obliged to book more.
Is Dermott registered?
Yes. Osteopaths in the UK must be registered with the General Osteopathic Council to practise, and you can check Dermott on the official register (number 8379).
I have a complex medical history. What should I do?
Please complete our brief clinical screening form before booking so Dermott can assess whether osteopathy is suitable for you.
Can I book evenings or weekends?
Yes. Weekday visits run until 10pm, Saturdays from 12pm to 5pm and Sundays from 12pm to 3pm.
Where can I read your policies and terms?
See our policies and terms and conditions.
